James is a composer from Maryland who began his career writing gospel songs in 1982. In recent years, James has taken a new approach to music, a change in direction in his compositions. In James’ words: “Beside the loss of my vision, I have experienced the loss of my wife as well as some of my friends. I started to realize that people are just trying to find something in life to give them comfort, joy, happiness, and HOPE. We need more positive messages in this world today! I also think about a lot of social justice issues, which I started incorporating into my writing and look forward to write more about.”
